So how about running for a good cause?

Since 2012, community social pediatrics causes have been at the heart of ACCEO’s charitable activities. Every year, ACCEO employees rally to raise funds for the Fondation du Dr Julien and its community social pediatrics centres.

A commitment born atop Kilimanjaro

ACCEO’s involvement with the cause began when a team of employees climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in December 2012 to raise funds for the Fondation du Dr Julien. The following year, ACCEO’s Race for the Children was born, and has continued as an annual fundraising event until today. Every year representatives from ACCEO, the foundation and from community social pediatrics centres race together for this worthy cause. Since its inception, this fundraising event has helped ACCEO raise in excess of $430,000 for children living in vulnerable communities.

A worthy cause in action

To get a better understanding about the purpose that drives this charitable organization, just take a look at this inspiring video (available in French). Created by the Fondation du Dr Julien team, it illustrates their unique approach to community social pediatrics.

A renewed formula

This year, same cause, new formula! For this 5th edition of the race— and 6th edition of the fundraiser—the event is getting a new look. La Course nocturne ACCEO (available in French) will take place on September 15 at the Montreal Olympic Stadium. As you may have guessed, this race will take place in the evening and includes 6 different distance events targeting several age groups. Make it a family activity. There’s a race for kids aged 2 and older, and parents of very young children can even run with a stroller. If you’re looking for something less intense, walkers are also welcome!

Each event will be followed by a medal award ceremony. After the races, you won’t want to miss the evening’s closing show. As event spokesperson, the talented singer Florence K will be giving a free live performance!

If you still need some convincing, this race is great for your health, it supports a very worthy children’s cause and it is an inspiring event for the whole family. Sign up now (available in French) to participate in the race! If you are a supporter and not a runner, you can make a donation here (available in French).

We hope you’ll join us on September 15!
